Our Team

Megan Wehman has a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, is an LPC in North Carolina and Connecticut, and is working towards licensure in the state of Georgia. She has previously worked within community programs, hospitals, schools, and private practice settings. She has experience working with children, adolescents, couples, families, parents, as well as individuals walking through depression, anxiety, trauma, marital conflict, and other mental health concerns. Megan and her husband have been married for 10 years and have three children together. Megan sees women, children/adolescents, and couples only.

Darren Chester is a retired U.S. Army Chaplain with 23 years of service providing Christian counseling and pastoral care to soldiers and army families. He has a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Science in Community Counseling with a concentration in marriage and family therapy from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. He has experience working with marriage, family, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, personal growth, and spiritual concerns. Darren and his wife have been married over 33 years, and have six adult children and one grandchild.

Melissa Whitacre holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling for Marriage and Family, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Community Care and Counseling in Marriage and Family. She works with children, adolescents, women, and marriages. Melissa has been married for 25 years. Her husband’s military service has given her a unique insight into the challenges military spouses face. She understands the complexities of relocation, deployments, and raising children amid transition. She and her husband have two adult children. Melissa sees women, children/adolescents, and couples only.

Joseph McKinley is a pastoral counselor who specializes in working with couples recovering from sexual addiction. He holds a BS in Religion from Liberty University. He is a certified Sexual Recovery and Partner Betrayal Trauma Coach through the American Association of Sex Addiction Therapy. He has a Master Diploma of Mental Health Coaching in Crisis Response and Trauma Care from Light University. Joseph and his wife have been married for 17 years and have six children.

Michelle Hooks holds a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is working toward licensure in the state of Georgia. She enjoys working with couples, families, and individuals seeking greater connection and
understanding in their relationships.

She has experience working with children, adolescents, couples, families, and parents, as well as individuals walking through depression, anxiety, life transitions, marital conflict, parenting, and other mental health concerns. She integrates principles from Emotionally Focused Therapy and has completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, two well-researched approaches that support couples in building healthier patterns of connection and communication. As a special needs mom, she has a personal understanding of the unique joys and challenges of parenting children with developmental differences and enjoys supporting parents with an autism- informed and compassionate perspective.

Michelle and her husband have been married for 18 years and have three children and two spoiled dogs.
